16th Annual Topping Out Networking Event and Awards Program
at The Statler, Dallas
(Topping Out M/WBE Community Impact Award Winner, TOP TEN Projects and Overall Winner Announced. Votes for the A/E/C Favorite Award will be cast during the Awards Event.)
HOW DO I SUBMIT A PROJECT?

Submit an NOI by 07/22/2019. Organizations wishing to submit a project for award consideration must first submit an NOI (Notice of Intent to Submit) by the NOI deadline. Click on the green "Complete NOI Form" button above or below.

All projects will be reviewed to make sure they meet all submission criteria (See WHAT PROJECTS CAN BE SUBMITTED below)

All projects will be reviewed to see if duplicate projects have been submitted. If so, those organizations will be contacted and asked to enter a joint submission. Joint submissions are welcomed and encouraged.

Receive Project Submission Form Link on 8/07/2019. The project submission link will be sent to projects that submitted an NOI and met criteria for entry. Projects not meeting qualifications will also be notified.

Complete the Project Submission Form by 08/21/2019. Project entries must be received by 5:00 pm on the due date. Note that you will also be required to submit 5 high-resolution images of your projects, a company logo, and a site plan/architectural drawing by the deadline.

Projects are deliberated by the Jury on 09/5/2019. A jury of well-respected professionals and community leaders will review all submitted projects in early August. The TOP TEN projects and TOP WINNER will be selected.

Attend Topping Out event and see if your Project is in the Top 10. At the annual networking event and awards program the TOP TEN project and TOP WINNER will be presented. In addition, the M/WBE Community Impact Award winning project and the A/E/C Favorite Award winning project will be presented.

WHAT PROJECTS CAN BE SUBMITTED?
Topping Out Top Ten Award

New projects, additions, or renovations completed between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018; or a project that was topped out in 2018 are eligible.

Projects within a 75-mile radius of either Dallas or Fort Worth that have a minimum of (1) team member with an office in the Dallas or Fort Worth area.

Projects that have previously won Topping Out TOP TEN or the TOP AWARD are not eligible.

Topping Out & CIOAC M/WBE Community Impact Award

Private sector projects, additions, or renovations that demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to engage M/WBE contractors on the project when no M/WBE participation goals were required.

Private sector projects completed between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018; or a project that was topped out in 2018 but has not been completed.
-
Private sector projects within a 75-mile radius of either Dallas or Fort Worth that have a minimum of (1) team member with an office in the Dallas or Fort Worth locale.

Projects that have previously won Topping Out M/WBE Community Impact Award are not eligible.

Topping Out A/E/C Favorite Award

All projects submitted for a 2019 TOP TEN award or 2019 M/WBE Community Impact Award will be automatically entered for the A/E/C FAVORITE award. The A/E/C Favorite Award has been designed to provide the A/E/C community in attendance at the event an opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite 2018 submitted project.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY FEES?
Entry Fees for both the TOP TEN and M/WBE COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD are $175.00 for an organization’s first award submission and $125.00 for each additional submission. For a joint submission, entry fees are $125.00 per submitting company for an organization’s first award submission and $100.00 per submitting company for each additional submission. All projects submitted will be automatically entered for the A/E/C FAVORITE award at no additional fee. When completing the submission form, submitter's will be able to pay for submission fees by credit card or ask for an invoice to be sent. Submissions fees are due PRIOR to the September 5, 2019 jury date. Only projects in which submission fees have been paid will be submitted for jury deliberation.
HOW ARE PROJECTS JUDGED?
A jury of well-respected professionals and community leaders are chosen by the Dean or the Director of the UTA College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA) with input from members of the Architecture Chapter of the University of Texas at Arlington Alumni Association, and Topping Out co-chairs. The criteria in which projects are judged evolve with each jury and the projects submitted. Judging is based on each submitted project’s:

Notable team contributions and how the collaboration positively impacted the project.

The positive impact to the community through creative development, innovation and/or technical challenges.
-
The economic impact, as well as the, environmental and community impact.
-
Successful coordination of complex projects.
-
Overall project contribution to the quality of life in the D/FW area.
